I am where I am today because of God and the ability to go through with some of my most scary fear projects. A fear project is a task that you are determined to carry out (whether big or small) regarding something you are scared of. So, for example, if you want to start a business but you are afraid it might fail, you overcome that by forcing yourself to go ahead and register that business, and on your way home talk to a stranger about what you intend to sell.

For some of us, this could freeze our blood…

… Silence the noise,

when it begins to come…

The above is an excerpt from an amateur song I composed about three years ago. I’m no expert singer, but I had to do this as a reminder that I shouldn’t listen to the stray voices in my head that have been hindering my ability to work well and believe in the authenticity and value that my work provides to people around me.

For a while now, I have been battling with intense negative thoughts. The way they cloud my head sometimes is insanely scary, and it seems so hard to…

The word “productivity” that is often used a million times every hour in any business or work environment simply means getting the best possible output from your given input. It is also seen as time management and one’s ability to be thoroughly efficient.

Productivity is definitely not the same as having a lot to do every single day or being a workaholic. It has to do with carrying out work or activities that translate into the realization of your personal goals or the goals of the company you work for. …

And the mantra you can use to stop it

Photo by Jeremy Dorrough on Unsplash

Let’s face it, 2021 has been an awesome year for so many people. So many entrepreneurs were able to get a bounce back from all the negative effects of Covid-19 and the lockdown in 2020. People are “leveling-up”, getting their strategies right, re-organizing their life and business priorities due to a better understanding of what really matters to them. So many people are getting it right so far this year.

Not me though. I’m a mess.

I feel like this year has been a slow spiral of events going in the wrong direction. I may have learned lessons from the…

The world needs you, flaws and all

Photo by Priscilla Du Preez on Unsplash

It is difficult to focus on the daily things that matter when you have all parts of your brain fixated only on the end result.

Influencers show you how perfectly curated their lives are.

Productivity gurus make you feel like you are wasting every second of your life when you’re not “busy”

Business owners who seem to have a million sales every day make you want to change every strategy you have carefully created that does not seem to be working.

Fitness coaches make you count every calorie and punish yourself for every late night snack you eat.

“What is…

Developing better work habits could be your only way out

Photo by Tamanna Rumee on Unsplash

It’s a popular saying (not quite sure who first said it) that we should not endeavor to change the world, but rather ourselves first. And even though most times we fail to notice, we often complain a lot more than we should. You don’t like your job, or a specific task you were recently given, or your pay, or how much time it takes away from you, and this, and that, such an unending list.

Complaining can feel good sometimes.

But that doesn’t mean it will solve the problem. And no, you are not responsible for being superman and going…

And how to take charge

Photo by Nick Morrison on Unsplash

It is difficult to enjoy all the wonderful things that life has to offer when all you are focused on is your work- like, all the time. And in between those days of deep motivation and a breakdown from exhaustion lies an unending flow of work and responsibilities that take your mind off from everything else that is important to you. I’ve been suffering this throughout the month of March and I decided firmly that I’m going to put a stop to it this April.

I agree that work is good, but it should not always be overwhelming and be…

Silencing other people’s doubts about you

Photo by Diana Polekhina on Unsplash

Within the past one year, I have told a few people that I sometimes consider leaving my job a short while after finishing my post graduate degree. And while there have been opinions supporting and opposing this thought, the one thing I seem to hear from everyone’s comment is:

“…but you’re too young to even be thinking in that direction now, don’t you think?”

Recently, I had to sit down and ask myself why everyone was making that comment, and if it was truly worth believing. Everybody seems to think, “Well, you’re too young to be worried about your future…

If you truly want to be successful

Photo by Joshua Oluwagbemiga on Unsplash

I posted an article last year about how difficult it is to work from a country like mine as there are so many inherent challenges. In it, I spoke about some of the external challenges that this country has posed to my work and business and how I was able to overcome them with time.

In this article, I want to talk about some of the mindset shifts that Nigerians need to make in order to better position themselves for success. We really need to talk about the basic thought processes of an average Nigerian youth that could pose as…

Even without the motivation

Photo by Estée Janssens on Unsplash

At some point in our lives, some of us become that kind of person who wants to be disciplined and achieve some level of success. Many life and business coaches would say you need to set goals and have a vision board to do this.

A vision board is like a roadmap that you create about what you want to achieve, what steps you need to take, and how you visualize your steps throughout the process and even after. It’s therefore futuristic, and a major feature of any vision board is your goals. …
